FaisTrack Privacy Policy

FaisTrack ("we", "our", "the app") is a drive-tracking and social racing app. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email if you choose to hide your email) to create your FaisTrack account.

Location data. FaisTrack uses your device's location, while the app is open, to detect when you start driving, record your route, and calculate stats like distance, speed, and duration. Location is not collected while the app is closed or running in the background.

Motion & fitness data. FaisTrack uses your device's motion activity data (via Apple's Core Motion framework) to help detect when you're driving versus walking or stationary. This data is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers as raw motion data.

User content. Information you create in the app, including your drives, garage/car details, race tracks you record, your username, and optional profile details (such as your Instagram handle), is stored so the app can function and so you can share it with friends if you choose to.

Photos. If you add a photo of your car, the app requests access to your camera or photo library solely to let you select or take that photo.

Social & competitive data. Your username, drive stats, and track times may be visible to other users through friends lists, leaderboards, and track leaderboards, depending on your privacy settings.

Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a device token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver notifications such as friend requests or new records.

Subscription information. FaisTrack offers optional subscriptions through Apple's App Store. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment card details. We only know whether your account currently has an active subscription.

How We Use Information

To operate core features: automatic drive detection, drive history, tracks, leaderboards, and friends.
To let you compete with friends and the wider FaisTrack community.
To send notifications you've opted into.
To maintain the security and integrity of the leaderboard and track records.

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. Data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which acts as our infrastructure provider. Other FaisTrack users can see information you've chosen to make visible (username, drives, track times) through the app's social features.

Your Choices

You can make your profile private in Settings, which limits your visibility in search and to non-friends.
You can remove friends, decline friend requests, and control who you're rivals with at any time.
You can disable location, motion, camera, or notification permissions at any time through iOS Settings — some features (like automatic drive detection) won't work without them.
You can delete your account entirely from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently removes your profile, drives, cars, tracks you created, and friend connections.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your data as described above; some anonymized or aggregate data (such as a track you created that others have already recorded times on) may be handled according to the app's track-ownership rules rather than deleted outright, since removing a track also removes other users' recorded results on it.

Children's Privacy

FaisTrack is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
